Recent Deaths

Sister Jeanne McLoughlin, O.P.

We extend our sincere sympathy to the Dominican Community, Sion Hill, Blackrock on the death of Sr. Jeanne McLoughlin, O.P.  We convey our sympathy also to Sr. Jeanne’s extended family, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, friends and particularly her Dominican Sisters in Sion Hill. Removal to Church of the Assumption, Booterstown on Monday, 18th September for Requiem Mass at 2.30 pm. May Sr. Jeanne Rest in Peace.

Christine Hughes

It is with sadness that we have learnt of the death of our long-time parishioner, Christine Hughes, The Elms, Mount Merrion Avenue.  We extend our deepest sympathy to her son, Fr. Felix Stephens, O.S.B., of Ampleforth Abbey, York, U.K.  Removal to Church of the Assumption, Booterstown on Wednesday 20th September for Requiem Mass at 11.30 am. May Christine Rest in Peace.

Meta (Mary) Doyle

We offer our sincere sympathy to the family of Meta (Mary) Doyle (nee Hastings), who has died. We convey our sympathy also to her extended family, relatives, friends and long-time neighbours on St. Helen’s Road. Meta was a Minister of the Eucharist in this church for many years.  Removal on Monday, 11th September, to Church of the Assumption arriving for 10.00 am Requiem Mass.  May Meta Rest in Peace.

Eileen Collins

We have learnt with sadness of the death of our parishioner, Eileen Collins and we extend our sincere sympathy to her children, her family, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours on St. Helen’s Road.  Removal to Church of the Assumption on Friday, 25th August arriving for 11 am Requiem Mass.  May Eileen Rest in Peace.

Gerry McVey

We are deeply saddened by the death of our parishioner, Gerry McVey. We extend our sincere sympathy to Gerry’s wife, Audrey; to his family, relatives, friends and neighbours. Removal to Church of the Assumption on Saturday, 5th August arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.00 am.  May Gerry Rest in Peace.

Adrian Ryan

Our deep sympathy goes to the family and friends of our parishioner, Adrian Ryan of Glenomena, who has died. Funeral will arrive at the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown at 9.50 a.m. on Saturday, July 29th, for Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. May Adrian rest in peace.

Sal (Sorcha) O’Doherty

It is with sadness that we have learnt of the death of our parishioner Sal (Sorcha) O’Doherty.  We extend our sincere sympathy to her sons, John and Kevin, her extended family, relatives, friends and longtime neighbours in Hyde Park Avenue.  Removal to Church of the Assumption on Saturday 22nd July arriving for Requiem Mass at 10.00 am. May Sal Rest in Peace.

Bridie (Bridget) Kilroy

It is with sadness that we have learnt of the death of our former parishioner, Bridie (Bridget) Kilroy, late of Hyde Park Avenue and Beechlawn. Bridie was predeceased by her husband Joe.  We extend our deep sympathy to Bridie’s daughter, her sons, her extended family, relatives, friends and former neighbours.  Removal to Church of the Assumption, Booterstown on Saturday 15th July arriving for Requiem Mass at 10.00 am.  May Bridie Rest in Peace.

Marianne Nangle

We are saddened by the death of Marianne Nangle (nee Geisler), Blackrock and formerly of Glenomena Park. We extend our deep sympathy to her husband, her sons, family, extended family, relatives and friends. Removal to Church of the Assumption on Tuesday, 4th July arriving for Requiem Mass at 10.00 am.  May Marianne Rest in Peace.

Mary Renee Hynes

It is with sadness that we have learnt of the death of Renee Hynes, a longtime parishioner. We extend our most sincere sympathy to her husband, Eamon and to her son, Gearoid, her extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours. Removal to Church of the Assumption, Booterstown arriving at 6.00 pm on Friday 30 June. Requiem Mass Saturday, 1st July at 10.00 am.  May Renee Rest in Peace.
