We had a most memorable celebration last Sunday to mark the official opening and Blessing of the Pastoral Centre. Bishop Eamonn Walsh, Principal Celebrant of Mass, blessed the Centre and the Parish Office.

In a note of thanks to Fr. Gerry, he wrote that “Sunday was a most joyous occasion and an example of a parish on Mission in earnest”. He extended his congratulations to one and all, and to those behind the scenes.

We are deeply grateful to the committed group of volunteers who gave up much of their weekend to set up the centre on Saturday, to bake the delicious cakes and buns which were enthusiastically consumed at the Reception, to serve teas and coffees to visitors of all ages, upstairs and downstairs, and who remained afterwards to tidy up.

Some volunteers are veterans, involved in the parish over many years, and some are new. Each of them said “it is lovely to be involved”!. Sunday was a true example of a Community in action.

Many thanks to everyone who assisted in any way on or before the special day, including our Sacristan, the Choir, the Liturgy Committee and Flower Committee.

Café 67, located in the Pastoral Centre, 67 Booterstown Avenue, is open for business from Tuesday-Thursday, 10 am—11.30 am. Tea/Coffee & biscuits are served. Donation €2. Please support your local Café!
