Reopening of the Church – Updates

booterstown parish interior with social distancing markings

Volunteer stewards and cleaners met during the week to become familiar with the arrangements in relation to re-opening the church for the public celebration of Mass. Teams have been drawn up for each Mass and we ask you to be patient as they learn their new role.

The Good News is that Archbishop Martin has approved the Framework which Booterstown Parish submitted for the reopening of the church. The first public celebration of Mass will be at 10 am on Monday, 29th June. We recommend that those who are nervous of attending Sunday Masses will attend during the week instead when smaller attendances are anticipated. Weekday attendance will suffice as the Sunday obligation.

All Masses will continue to be transmitted via the parish webcam. We ask that you support us as we settle into the new routine and get used to the distancing requirements necessary. It will be so helpful if people can arrive early to Mass as it will be very difficult to accommodate latecomers, who will be clearly visible on Webcam!!
