Trocaire acknowledges with gratitude the generous response from Booterstown Parish to
last week’s collection in aid of the Famine Appeal in East Africa. A total of €2,185 was
received and has been transferred to Trocaire.
Trocaire is appealing for support for the East Africa Hunger Crisis which is ongoing in
Ethiopia, Somalia, South Soudan and South Kordofan. The communities there are devasted
and the human suffering is enormous.
This weekend, the Irish Bishops’ Conference has agreed for an Emergency Collection to be taken up at Masses in all parishes throughout Ireland. This will replace the usual Share collection, so please put your donation in any of the Red buckets placed around the church.
All proceeds will go towards Safe water, the problems created for the farmers by the drought, medicines and the alleviation of malnutrition.
